Jana Perez

Jana supports the preparation of financial reports at Innovate BC, compiling internal financial packages with supporting analysis and working papers to ensure accuracy and completeness. She also assists with external financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Jana plays a key role in maintaining effective internal controls, improving workflow efficiencies, and building strong checks and balances for accounting processes. She works closely with departments across the organization to review financial results and trends and oversees payroll processing.

Before joining Innovate BC, Jana gained extensive experience in both the not-for-profit and private sectors, including roles at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Community Living Toronto, as well as in real estate development. Her previous work focused on enhancing workflow transparency, efficiency, and internal controls.

Jana is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds an accounting diploma from UBC Sauder School of Business. She is currently working toward certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the National Payroll Institute.
