Administrative Assistant

This is a 1-year fixed term, junior position reporting to the Operations Manager. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the team and is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of the Innovate BC office. The chosen candidate will have an interest in the technology sector and will have 2+ years of administrative experience and skills.

Compensation: $45,000+ per annum


  •  Facilities management and liaising with building management
  •  Answer the main phone line and direct calls
  •  Daily cleaning and upkeep of office space and kitchen areas
  •  Support Innovate BC’s office tenants
  •  Manage three boardroom calendars
  •  Vendor management and purchasing office supplies
  •  Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain office equipment
  •  Assist with new employee onboarding
  •  Liaise with IT consultants, assist with IT support requests
  •  Processing incoming, outgoing mail and courier requests
  •  Maintain and update filing/data systems, and lists
  •  Address day-to-day administrative needs in conjunction with other staff 
  •  Supporting the logistics of meetings and internal events
  •  Assist with other projects or tasks as required



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  •  Strong attention to detail and flexible personality with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  •  2+ years of related work experience in providing administrative support
  •  Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  •  Demonstrated ability to be proactive, flexible and a collaborative team member
  •  All round team player with a willingness to help others
  •  Event or hospitality experience
  •  Experience with Zoom and MS Teams considered an asset
  •  Experience and interest in the tech sector considered an asset
  •  Experience with Mac OS considered an asset
